rocket i. |
one-dimensional single electroimmunodiffusion; a technique in which antigen is placed in a row of wells in an agar plate containing antiserum and an electric field perpendicular to the line of wells is applied; this drives the antigen through the gel, forming a spike or “rocket” precipitin pattern trailing away from each well. The length of the rocket is proportional to the amount of antigen placed in the well. Called also Laurell technique.
